Bristol, England and The City of Bath

I was able to spend an extra day in Bristol, England allowing me to take the train to The City of Bath.Bristol is near the border of Wales, it is a seaport town where John Cabot first set sail from to North America and hosts a world class Balloon Festival each summer. St. Mary Redcliffe Cathedral--referred to by Queen Elizabeth I as the most beautiful cathedral in all of England.
One of the churches bombed during the war Temple Meads- the train station in Bristol. Off to The City of Bath on a train ride through the countryside, the train ultimately goes to Paddington, Station in London

The City of Bath
The Sally Lunn House- the oldest house in Bath
No Sally Lunn Bunns(bread) for these bunns!!

Crescent Place
An elite area of 30 houses built in the 1800's in a crescent shape. It is not uncommon to see horse drawn carriages along the drive in the warm weather

The Roman Baths

This was a bath built during the 1st century for the Roman leaders and wives. Note the words above the doors

Last stop before the train ride back to Bristol.
A traditional English Pub/Carvery for a pint of ale and traditional fare of 'bangers and mash
