Malcolm and I spent some time at Bethany Beach, Delaware this summer. This is where we went for our honeymoon 4 years ago, we keep a few little traditions each time we visit.
I love this picture it reminds me of an old fashioned sea scape
the summer season and during the fall The bandstand at Bethany Beach hosts an array of events both during
Mango's is where had our first dinner on our honeymoon. We make it a point to go there for a cocktail and Happy Hour appetizers, plus the view over the ocean is terrific!!
Fishies at Mango's

Last fall beach restoration began at Bethany Beach. The beach has suffered greatly over the years from natural erosion and noreasters. Sand was dredged from the ocean floor and added to the shorelinetras, new dunes were created. This a picture of sea grass that has been planted on the dunes

This is how the grass has grown in a month's time
We managed to spend a little time at the pool combining work and relaxation. The "author" can be seen here editing his work

"Hey Malcolm, the water's great" I took a little time out from my studying to take a nice swim in the pool
Rehoboth Beach is about 15 minutes away from Bethany. A quaint beach town, bigger than Bethany with lots of shops and pubs.
Whiskey Jack's is on the boardwalk. We stumbled on this boardwalk bar when on our honeymoon, it has become a mainstay of each visit since (at least those in the summer)
Salt Water Taffy and the beach seem to go hand in hand. Dolles Salt Water Taffy is an icon on the boardwalk

These flowers are along main street in Bethany Beach. This is the prototype for my "burn pile" garden in the meadow. I am constantly getting ideas of colors and types of flowers to combine to achieve a similiar look.
We enjoyed our visits to the beach this summer and it was time to relax and yet get some needed work done without the interference of everyday activities. I hope that we can get back to the beach over Colombus Day and maybe in November as well. We went to the little town of Lewes, Delaware last year and I hope that we can go there again. (I'll post pictures if we do)
